How to care for Sunburst Succulent Outdoors?

To ensure your plant grows well, you should take care of all its needs, like watering and light requirements.

Succulent Watering Requirements:

Are you asking, "What are the succulent watering requirements for a Sunburst?" Aeonium sunbursts Succulents need just a little water. Deeply and occasionally water the plant, letting the top inch or two of soil dry in between waterings. Fill the pot with water, let it completely drain, and then refill it. Never let water build up in the plant's base because this might encourage rot and damage from excess weight. The plant must never be waterlogged because it is sensitive to overwatering. In the winter, when the days are shorter and the temperatures are lower than average, this outdoor succulent plant will require less watering.

Light Requirements:

Proper care for a Sunburst Succulent requires full to partial sun outdoors. This outdoor plant enjoys both full sun and little shade. However, some have said you can bring this succulent indoors as long as it receives enough light and grows successfully inside. When growing plants indoors, place the containers close to a window or another area that receives lots of sunshine. It is advised to get at least six hours of daylight each day.

Temperature Requirements:

These succulent plants don't have strict temperature or humidity requirements, making them suitable for the typical home. They can grow in a range of temperatures, from 40°F (4 °C) to 100°F (38 °C).

They prefer a similar relative humidity range to those that most other indoor plants do about humidity. They will thrive in a home with average humidity levels ranging from 30% to 60%. In general, you should avoid lowering the temperature below 50-55°F because doing so could impede the succulent plant's growth and make it lean.

Fertilizer Requirements:

It's crucial to fertilize aeonium sunburst succulent plants because it promotes growth and health.

The succulent growing season is the ideal time to fertilize an aeonium. Most succulents, in general, require fertilizer every month when actively growing so that their roots can effectively absorb nutrients. Use a balanced fertilizer diluted with water to half its strength before applying it to the succulent soil. Alternately, nutrients can be applied to the plants as a top dressing.

Succulent Soil Requirements:

This outdoor succulent plant requires organically rich soil. They prefer to be planted in well-drained soil with significant amounts of sand and peat moss in addition to the standard potting soil. You can buy this kind of media or make your own by mixing peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, and coarse sand in equal amounts.

It's best to substitute something like a succulent or cactus mix. These succulent plants need proper drainage because they could develop root rot if their roots stay too moist. Success is less likely if the soil is rich with clay or retains water.

How to Propagate & Plant Sunburst Succulent Plant?

At Succulents Club, one of the features we love most about these amazing plants is the ability to propagate them easily. You can replicate your plants through a few easy succulent propagation steps.

How to take Succulent Plant Cuttings?

As needed for succulent propagation, trim the stem. Cut off the stem or leaves of the succulent using a pair of clean scissors. If you don't clip the leaves such that none are left on the stem, you will have less chance of succeeding. The cuttings from the stem and leaves should be placed in a warm area to dry for two to three days as they develop calluses.

How to Propagate Sunburst Succulents?

Filling the containers with regular succulent or cactus potting soil is recommended. Place the calloused cuttings in the damp potting medium, then gently firm the succulent soil. For the first few days, continue spraying the cutting 5 to 6 times daily. Avoid standing directly under the sun. Once the plant cuttings have taken root and are firmly planted in the soil, stop the watering and move to a soak and dry method for watering.

Sunburst Plant Repotting:

Potting a succulent is the first step in taking care of it.

With the root ball at the bottom, arrange the plant on top of the soil in the container. To improve water drainage and avoid rot, gently press down all around it to remove any air pockets between the roots and dirt.

When the dirt is deep enough to cover 75% of the surface area without any extra spilling over into adjacent pots, you can stop adding or taking away more soil. When Aeonium Sunburst plants need to grow larger than their current planter can accommodate, it is time to repot them.
